The Raymore-Peculiar Board of Education recognized the accomplishments of the RPHS Girls Golf team and two outstanding coaches during its October meeting, celebrating an impressive season of athletic achievements.
The RPHS Girls Golf team earned second place at the state tournament after battling back on the second day of competition to finish tied for first before ultimately placing second in a tiebreaker.
The team also celebrated impressive individual accomplishments. Addie Swan captured the individual state championship with an outstanding six-under-par performance, earning her third All-State honor. Swan's success continued beyond the state tournament as she was also named a KSHB 41 Hy-Vee Athlete of the Week. Hear more of her story on KSHB 41.
Vanessa Ocampo finished fifth individually at the state tournament, earning All-State honors for the second time. Congratulations also go to Alexis Brown, Giana Hunt and Lena Gorman for their contributions to an incredible season.
The Board also recognized Ali-Jo Locher, softball coach, and John Plankers, girls golf coach, after they were named 2025-2026 NFHS MSHSAA Coaches of the Year by the Missouri State High School Activities Association. Both coaches led their respective teams to state championships last season.
Coach Locher has been part of the Ray-Pec family since 2022, while Coach Plankers joined the district in 2017. Their recognition reflects not only their success on the field and course but also their dedication, leadership and commitment to the student-athletes they serve. Their impact extends beyond championships, helping students grow and creating experiences that will last a lifetime.
Congratulations to our student-athletes and coaches on these outstanding accomplishments! Ray-Pec is proud of the way you represent our district and community.
