Congratulations to Raymore-Peculiar 8th grader Alex Mayes on winning the Cass County Regional Spelling Bee! Various students from surrounding school districts took part in the competition.

As the winner, Alex receives an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C., for himself and a chaperone to participate in the annual Scripps National Spelling Bee. The prize includes airfare, lodging, and a spending allowance. He also received a trophy and a gift card.

The runner-up was William Henley from the Pleasant Hill School District. As runner-up, William received a trophy and a gift card. All other participants each received trophies.
