Ray-Pec High School received two Blue Star award nominations for its production of the musical “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” The nominations are for Outstanding Orchestra and Outstanding Ensemble! Modeled after Broadway's Tony Awards, Starlight's annual Blue Star Awards recognize achievement and excellence in musical theatre among Kansas City area high school students. This is the 23rd year for the awards program. Ceremony winners will be announced in more than 20 categories, with students participating from 66 area high schools. The ceremony is free, open to the public, and all tickets are general admission seating. Red carpet arrivals and photo opportunities begin at 6:30 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15. While the majority of seats to the Blue Star Awards Ceremony are available at no charge, premium seating is now available for $20 per ticket.
