DECA Students Competed at Districts

Raymore-Peculiar DECA members competed on Feb. 6 in the District 3 DECA Career Development Conference. Thirty-six students competed in a variety of marketing, management, finance, and hospitality events. Students demonstrated their knowledge and skills through a series of testing, role playing, and presentations. Ray-Pec students received 24 medals and trophies for their performances, with nine students qualifying to compete at the DECA State Career Development in March at Crown Center in Kansas City.  

State qualifiers are: 

  • Logan Balentine and Andres Kemper, Entrepreneurship Team Decision Making, first place.

  • Isabel Blakely and Kambell Johnson, Integrated Marketing Campaign-Event, first place.

  • Brenen Birdsell, Restaurant and Food Service Management, third place.

  • Connor Cranston, Human Resources Management, third place.

  • Allen Moore, Professional Selling Event, third place.

  • Jacob Powell, Retail Merchandising, third place.

  • Clayton Gillihan, Quick Serve Restaurant Management, fourth place.

  • Isabell Blakely, Retail Merchandising, sixth place.

Other medal winners are:

  • Sofia Gutierrez-Padilla and Alexis Cates, Travel and Tourism Marketing Team Decision Making, sixth place.

  • Tucker Huffman and Aiden Lueck, Hospitality Services Team Decision Making, fifth place.

  • Liam Nissen and Chris Porter, Hospitality Services Team Decision Making, sixth place.

  • Adam Suriyaaumporn and Keegan Ortiz, Marketing Management Team Decision Making, sixth place.

  • Muhammad Bhatti, Business Finance, eighth place.

  • Isaiah Cox, Business Finance Services, seventh place.

  • Payten Skonning, Sports and Entertainment Marketing, 10th place.

  • Cayleigh Tyus, Restaurant and Food Service Management, 10th place.
