The Raymore-Peculiar School District has received a 2023 Capstone Award from the Kansas City Business Journal. Each year, the KC Business Journal recognizes projects that have enhanced Kansas City real estate and the area as a whole.
During a ceremony on April 13 in Kansas City, the Ray-Pec LEAD Center earned recognition in the Adaptive Re-use Category.
The District purchased the building in February 2021 to provide additional opportunities for students in the area of career oriented education and real world learning experience. The facility had been vacant for several years. The LEAD Center opened in August 2022.
The 2023 Capstone Awards honored 26 projects completed in 2022 throughout the Kansas City metro area. Winners were selected in these categories: adaptive reuse, architectural design, community impact, industrial, mixed-use, multifamily, office, retail, senior living and sustainability.
