4th graders in Mrs. Loutzenhiser's room have been building their thinking stamina while collaborating with peers in math class and they love it! Their problem today was "If you write out the numbers 1-1,000 how many times would you write out the number 7?" What would your answer be?

Make sure your student's immunizations are up to date for the new school year. This particularly impacts students entering kindergarten, 8th grade, and high school.
The Cass County Health Department is offering walk-in clinics July 31 through Aug. 18 for back to school immunizations. You may also obtain the vaccinations at your health care provider.

Kids had a blast watching some staff members get "PIED" in the face. PIE a staff member was a fundraiser set up by our wonderful Stonegate PTA.

Congratulations to our 5th-grade class. Today we celebrated your accomplishments and we can't wait to see what the future has in store for you! Once a stingray always a stingray!

STEAM night was amazing. Thank you to all who helped make it possible.

Join us Thursday night for our annual S.T.E.A.M. night from 5:30-7:00. The halls will be lined with artwork and students will be able to participate in science, technology, and math activities all around the building.

Don't forget Monday the book fair opens and we will celebrate by wearing PJ's, "Rise and Shine it's caring time" Bring all canned food donations to the front office.
Next week during the book fair we will be celebrating how we all come together as a community, no matter what our differences are, to take care of each other, our families, our school, and our city.
Donations: We will be collecting items for the RayPec School Foundation. Each item collected, not only will go to helping students and families in our school district but will also get SG students into a raffle to possibly win a prize themselves.
Another way to be entered into the raffle is to participate in the dress-up days. It is a way to have fun and participate in something the whole school gets involved in.
Also, parents, grandparents & other relatives, and friends of our school, will be welcomed to come in to volunteer and help with our book fair (sign-ups will come out soon).

Get excited the book fair is coming next week! Doors open Monday, March 27. Look for more information to come soon!

Let the competition begin! Each class is in a race to collect the most chapstick donations for Operation Uplift. Send in your donations by Thursday, March 16. The top 3 classrooms will receive prizes.

Congratulations to Lane Renfro for breaking the school pacer record!

Major Saver fundraiser has kicked off. Make sure to use this upcoming extended weekend to sell sell sell. Proceeds directly help our school and district.

Black History Month provides meaningful opportunities for all students to celebrate the rich traditions of African Americans and recognize their contributions and achievements throughout our nation's history. We honor Black History Month and will celebrate it by learning about influential African Americans through literature, videos, posters, and projects in classrooms.
Our very own Mr. Ed Ford, Lead Night Custodian has a hidden talent.
Mr. Ford presented this portrait he painted of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to the students at Stonegate Elementary School. Mr. Ford studied at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. When he is not working at Stonegate, he spends his free time painting.
Mr. Ford said his favorite quotes by Dr. Martin Luther King is
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. "
AND
"Intelligence plus character- that is the true goal of education."
The portrait was unveiled to students during the Major Saver Assembly this afternoon.
We are overwhelmed by his talent and beyond grateful for his gift to our school.
