Shull PreK Teachers Grant

The Ray-Pec Public School Foundation Surprise Patrol on March 13, 2025 awarded more than $15,500 in grant awards across the district. Shull teachers and staff received five grants.

Cassie Passeau GrantTeacher Cassie Passeau received a grant of $483.17 to purchase supplies for real world learning centers. These include veterinarian, doctor, dentist, hairdresser, ice cream cart, and a cash register.

Occupational Therapist Trisha Morris received a grant of $1,022.58 to purchase a sensory barrel for students to use in a calming area of the Special Education classroom.

Physical Therapist Amy Heinen received a $920 grant to purchase heavy duty tunnels and alphabet stepping stones. These two items are used to facilitate gross motor skill learning and large muscle groups.

Speech Language Pathologists GrantSpeech Language Pathologists Kimberly Watson, Susanne Mahoney, and Kelly Davis received a grant of $760 to purchase Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) support for early learners. This grant will fund an iPad, app case and keyguard. This allows robust communication for students who are non-verbal or minimally verbal.

Teachers Kelly Moser, Tobi O'Donnell, Cassie Passeau, Amanda Haydu, Kristyl Boehmer and Stacy Barbarick received a grant of $991.27 to purchase reusable sensory play materials and activities.

Foundation Executive Director Jodie Huston made the surprise presentations, along with Superintendent Dr. Mike Slagle and Foundation Board Members Ashley Crowe, Michelle Houston, Bryan Mallory, Jodi Price, and Cathy Wansing.

The grants will be used for a variety of items, including books, gardening tools, standing desks, science supplies, Bosu balls, LCD writing tablets, alphabet stepping stones, sensory play materials, video cameras for student journalists, and a stacked washer and dryer.
