Happy Thanksgiving!
Students from East Middle School and South Middle School participated in the West Central Missouri Music Educators Association 7th and 8th Grade Honor Choir Event on Nov. 4. Selected students practiced their music before the event, then met on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the University of Central Missouri to prepare the music with other students from neighboring schools under the direction of clinicians. A concert was performed that evening. Participants from SMS included: Top row - Izzie Greig, Vanessa Ragan, Lizzie Howe, Maddy Baston, Memphis Duncan, Paige Claus, and Emani Kalimullah. Second row - Kennady Smith, Teacher Lezlie Waltz, Lorelei Fairbanks, and Allie Compton. Bottom row - Madyson Gaucin, Aydenn Mitchell, Mathias Quintero, Noah Varnal, and Ky Price.

Ray-Pec Holiday Mart 🎅 You are invited to the Ray-Pec Holiday Mart from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 3 at Ray-Pec High School. More than 50 vendors will be selling a variety of merchandise. Chris Cakes will be serving from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Take photos with Santa Claus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is free. The event is sponsored by Ray-Pec Cheer.

Make sure your student's immunizations are up to date for the new school year. This particularly impacts students entering kindergarten, 8th grade, and high school. The Cass County Health Department is offering walk-in clinics July 31 through Aug. 18 for back to school immunizations. You may also obtain the vaccinations at your health care provider. Missouri’s annual back-to-school sales tax holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. Friday, August 4th, and runs through midnight on Sunday, August 6th. During this time, certain back-to-school purchases such as school supplies, computers, clothing, diapers, and other qualifying items as defined by statute are exempt from all state and local sales tax. 💻✏️🎒👕 New this year, in addition to the state sales tax, local sales tax will also be waived in all cities, counties, and special tax districts. Check your email for a message from the school district with instructions to complete the registration forms and submit proof of residency online. Most families can complete the required registration forms online. This means that you will not need to attend an in-person registration event.
