Dr. Joanna Clark, Ray-Pec Teacher of the Year, has been named a 2026 Regional Teacher of the Year finalist. Clark, who teaches seventh-grade science at South Middle School, was selected for the honor after advancing through a competitive application and interview process.
The recognition highlights her commitment to creating an engaging and supportive classroom where all students can thrive. As a regional finalist, Clark will be considered for Missouri State Teacher of the Year. She and the other regional finalists will be recognized at a luncheon at Union Station later this month.
She joins an elite group of Ray-Pec educators who have earned this distinction, including Todd Schnake (2021), Dan Garrison (2017), Patrick Hemmingsen (2016), and Rebecca Gooding (2010), who was also one of six finalists for Missouri Teacher of the Year.
