Congratulations are in order! The Boys' and Girls' Wrestling teams BOTH secured the Suburban Gold Conference Championships last night with their wins over Lee's Summit West! 🏆
This is also the Girls' 3rd Conference Championship in the last 4 years! 💪
This amazing group of Sources of Strength Peer Leaders and Adult Advisors spent their day in Kansas on Tuesday meeting other KC Metro Sources of Strength clubs and shared fun ideas! They delivered a presentation on what Ray-Pec SoS is all about, played games, and took a ton of notes on how to make the mental wellness club even better! Special thanks to Sources of Strength KC for another amazing round table event.

Congratulations to the Ray-Pec High School Scholar Bowl Team for placing second in the 2024 Roadrunner Scholastic Tournament Saturday, Jan. 20, in Sedalia. Ray-Pec's Alex Gawron was the individual player runner-up with 70 pts/game. Ray-Pec has earned a bid to the High School National Championship Tournament, scheduled over Memorial Day Weekend in Atlanta.
The Scholar Bowl Team Coach is Kelly Logan, assisted by Megan Walker.

Over the weekend the Boys' Basketball team won the consolation championship game at the Jenks-Union Invitational with a 58-37 victory over Glenpool. Cannon Northcraft was one of six players named to the All-Tournament team for his efforts! 🏀

The 2024 Missouri Thespian Conference is now in the books! 🎭 Ray-Pec performed Romeo and Juliet on the mainstage in front of hundreds of people inside the Folly Theater on Friday.
A special congratulations to Sav Jordan and Tre Hill for earning the Performance Scholarship at the conference this weekend!





The Missouri State Thespian Conference is being held in Kansas City on January 4th, 5th, and 6th. Ray-Pec High School was selected to perform "Romeo and Juliet" as one of the MAINSTAGE productions. Ray-Pec will be peforming at the Folly Theater tonight at 7:30 pm. 🎭
Each year, only a handful of plays are selected to perform at the festival. This marks the 10th time that RPHS has performed a mainstage show at the Missouri State Conference since 1973.


The School Board tonight also recognized Ray-Pec High School Coach Jay Johnson for his recent induction into the Missouri Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame. He is pictured with Board President Ruth Johnson.
Johnson is the head coach for the Ray-Pec girls cross country team. He has been a head cross country coach and assistant track coach at Ray-Pec since 1992. Previously, he was the head track coach at Grain Valley from 1980 to 1984. During his 43 years of coaching, Jay has been selected as Coach of the Year twice by the Missouri Track and Cross Country Coaches Association (MTCCCA) and Greater Kansas City Cross Country Coaches Association (GKCCCCA). The School Board tonight recognized Ray-Pec High School Senior Riley Zimmerman, who has been selected for the All-State Band. More than 1,200 students from across the state auditioned for one of the 106 spots in the Missouri All-State Band. Riley earned 3rd chair trombone, and will perform at the Missouri Music Educator Association Conference in January 2024. He is pictured with Board President Ruth Johnson.

🎥 For the last Staff Spotlight of 2023, Dr. Slagle sits down with the dynamic duo of school secretaries at Raymore Elementary, Renee Anthuis and Karla Heinrich. Renee and Karla have worked together at Raymore Elementary for 11 years, where they've developed a special bond with each other and the students that have come through the school over the years.

Five Ray-Pec DECA students attended and competed at the 2023 AdZou Challenge held by the Missouri School of Journalism on Dec. 4 on the Mizzou campus. Students learned about the field of strategic communications and took part in a statewide advertising competition. The Ray-Pec team received the team award for Best Team Research.
