PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test

On Wednesday, Oct. 12, Sophomores and Juniors will have the opportunity to take either a practice ACT or a Practice SAT. This test day is an opportunity for students to be able to practice in a testing environment, akin to an official test. The practice ACT is available to all students, free of charge, whereas the PSAT is available for a fee. Both of these tests will provide students with a better understanding of their foundational skills, as well as strengths and weaknesses. However, Juniors who take the PSAT enter into the competition for National Merit Scholarships. Please be aware that we have a limited number of PSAT Tests available and students will be registered on a first come, first serve basis.

For the 2022 practice ACT students do not need to register, because they are automatically designated for this test. However, if a student wants to take the PSAT/NMSQT, students must register online. In order to register for the PSAT, students should visit www.TotalRegistration.net/PSAT/262580. The cost for the PSAT/NMSQT Test is $18, if you register within the regular registration window, but if you miss this deadline and register late, the fee will increase to $21.

Here are the important dates for the registration process:

Advanced Placement Exams

Online registration for Advanced Placement exams is under way, and the regular deadline ends at 3 p.m.  Oct. 28. In order to register for an AP exam a student must complete two steps:

1. The student must be signed up for their AP Classroom, on the College Board website

2. Students should visit www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/262580 to pay for exam(s).

To complete registration, students must answer all of the required questions. Registration is not complete until students print the PDF of the confirmation page that is provided at the end (this page is for your records). We know that parents may desire to register their students for exams, but we strongly recommend that parents and students are both present while registering to ensure that the correct exams are ordered. Please contact Sheila Jackson, sheila.jackson@raypec.org , if you would like to register for an exam not listed, if you have any questions, or if you’re requiring financial assistance.
