3 students pass Part 107 Commerical Drone Pilots Exam

Ray-Pec High School Students (L to R) Aedan Layton, Yusuf Suleiman and Joshua Norton passed their FAA Remote Pilot Certificate (Part 107) last week. This certification is essential for anyone who wants to become a commercial drone pilot. To obtain this certification, the applicant must demonstrate knowledge aligned with the Remote Pilot Certificate with a sUAS rating and the ability to act as a remote pilot-in-command (PIC). The certification process involves taking an aeronautical knowledge exam that covers various topics, such as regulations, airspace classification, operating requirements, flight restrictions, weather, loading, performance, emergency procedures, decision-making, judgment, effects of drugs and alcohol, airport operations, maintenance, and preflight inspection procedures.

To become a commercial drone pilot, the applicant must meet certain requirements, such as being at least 16 years old, being able to read, speak, write, and understand English, and being in a physical and mental condition to safely fly a drone.
