The Ray-Pec School District is seeking nominations for the 2024 Teacher of the Year and Support Staff Employee of the Year. The award finalists will be honored in the spring.
Anyone may nominate a teacher by submitting a letter of nomination by Jan. 19. A candidate must:
Be a full-time teacher, librarian, or counselor.
Be returning to teach in 2024-25 in the District.
Have completed 3 or more years teaching at Ray-Pec.
Be effective and innovative in the classroom.
For the Support Staff award, you may nominate a full-time or part-time employee who has worked at least one year for the District. The deadline is also Jan. 19.
Examples of eligible employees include: accompanist, accounts payable, BOOST before and after school care, buildings and grounds, child nutrition, crossing guards, finance employees, lunch monitors, media assistants, nurses, paraprofessionals, payroll, safety and security, secretaries, teacher aides, and technology employees.

The LEAD Center would like to invite the community, faculty, staff and students to their fall Student Showcase. The come and go event is Wednesday, December 6 from 4:30-6:30 at the LEAD Center. All students will be showcasing their experience.
The 8th Grade RPEMS Music Theatre Cast and Crew would like to invite you to attend our production of Matilda, Jr! Shows will be December 14th and 16th, 7:00 PM and December 17th at 2:00 PM. RP Sings, the Choirs of Ray-Pec, would like to invite all students, grades 5-12 to participate in our RP Select Day 2024. This is an amazing day where all can come together to sing. This event is hosted at Ray-Pec High School and is free of charge.

Happy Thanksgiving for the Ray-Pec School District! 🦃
Students from East Middle School and South Middle School participated in the West Central Missouri Music Educators Association 7th and 8th Grade Honor Choir Event on Nov. 4. Selected students practiced their music before the event, then met on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the University of Central Missouri to prepare the music with other students from neighboring schools under the direction of clinicians. A concert was performed that evening.
Participants from EMS included: Back row - Jill Blomquist, Julia Mayberry, Diego Gonzalez, Cale Napton, Callie Russell, and Aerowyn Walsh. Middle row - Kiersten Lukenbill, Emma Dudley, Charli Roller, Lily Seeley, Blake Raymond, and Cannon Roe. Front row - Kali Frederick, Irelynn Miller, Bella Sundeen, Colton Hill, Makenzie Barnhill, and Kailiee Kiger.

Ray-Pec Holiday Mart 🎅
You are invited to the Ray-Pec Holiday Mart from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 3 at Ray-Pec High School. More than 50 vendors will be selling a variety of merchandise. Chris Cakes will be serving from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Take photos with Santa Claus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is free. The event is sponsored by Ray-Pec Cheer.
Make sure your student's immunizations are up to date for the new school year. This particularly impacts students entering kindergarten, 8th grade, and high school.
The Cass County Health Department is offering walk-in clinics July 31 through Aug. 18 for back to school immunizations. You may also obtain the vaccinations at your health care provider.

Missouri’s annual back-to-school sales tax holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. Friday, August 4th, and runs through midnight on Sunday, August 6th. During this time, certain back-to-school purchases such as school supplies, computers, clothing, diapers, and other qualifying items as defined by statute are exempt from all state and local sales tax. 💻✏️🎒👕
New this year, in addition to the state sales tax, local sales tax will also be waived in all cities, counties, and special tax districts.
