Students in the Teacher Academy

The Teacher Academy at the Ray-Pec LEAD Center engages students interested in learning about careers in education.

Students will explore various levels of education, including Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary career opportunities. Students will experience and learn educational theory, lesson planning, behavior management, learning styles, instructional strategies, child development, and professionalism.

Students will secure field placements in a variety of settings. During the field experience, students will spend four days a week at the placement site with one day of training, reflection, and coursework at the LEAD Center. Upon successfully completing the program, students will be eligible for the district's Grow Your Own teacher pipeline focused on recruiting Ray-Pec graduates to return to our school district to teach.
