The Raymore-Peculiar School District has received a 2023 Capstone Award from the Kansas City Business Journal.
The Ray-Pec LEAD Center, which opened in August 2022 in Raymore, earned recognition in the Adaptive Re-use Category.
The District purchased the building in February 2021 to provide additional opportunities for students in the area of career oriented education and real world learning experience. The facility, which has about 41,000 square feet, had been vacant for several years.
The 2023 Capstone Awards honored 26 projects completed in 2022 throughout the Kansas City metro area. Winners were selected in these categories: adaptive re-use, architectural design, community impact, industrial, mixed-use, multifamily, office, retail, senior living and sustainability. Each year, the Kansas City Business Journal recognizes projects that have enhanced Kansas City real estate and the area as a whole.
The Capstone Awards 2023 ceremony was held April 13 in Kansas City.
