First superpower unlocked: Steady.
Today our students learned their Super Hero breath: breathe in like
you're smelling a flower, breathe out like you are blowing out a
candle. It sounds simple, but its how heroes stay calm and strong
on the inside even when things feel out of control on the outside.
The big question they are carrying with them today: "Am I using my
power, or is my power using me?"
Their leadership challenge is to use their Super Hero breath three
times today and then teach it to someone at home tonight. So if
your student grabs you after school and asks you to smell a flower
and blow out a candle, you'll know why.

Who says summer and school don’t mix? This is where learning comes to life!
Families are encouraged to register for summer school by May 15 to ensure transportation for the first week of classes. Summer school registration is still open through the Focus parent portal. Students should be registered based on the grade level they will enter next school year. Summer school begins Monday, June 1, with no classes scheduled on June 19.
Students registered after May 15 may not be guaranteed bus service during the first week and could be placed on a waitlist. Early registration helps us plan transportation routes, staffing, and course availability to best serve our students. Once registered, additional information will be provided to you.
Additional program details, including course offerings and schedules, are available on the district website. If you have questions, please email summer.school@raypec.org.

On Monday, the Ray-Pec District Elementary Battle of the Books competition was held virtually, bringing together the top two teams from Timber Creek, Creekmoor, and Eagle Glen. We’re thrilled to share that one of our teams took the win and our other team tied for second! Way to go, readers—we are so proud of you!
📚🏆 Eagle Glen’s FIRST-EVER Battle of the Books! 🏆📚
Today our 4th and 5th graders made history as they competed in Eagle Glen’s very first Battle of the Books(BOB)! Students teamed up, read the 2025–2026 Mark Twain Nominee books, and put their knowledge to the test in an exciting, fast-paced quiz competition.
After some intense rounds and impressive teamwork, two teams are advancing to the District Battle of the Books(BOB), where they’ll face off against students from Timber Creek and Creekmoor. We couldn’t be more proud of the dedication, teamwork, and love of reading these 32 students showed while preparing for this big day.
Because at Eagle Glen, Readers ARE Leaders! 💙📖 Way to go, students! 👏
Storms, Stories, and Smiles Book Fair starts Monday! Our talented third grader, Adaline, was so kind and created a fabulous decoration, and everything is set up and ready to go.
Book Fair Hours are 8:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. daily, except Friday when we close at 11:00 a.m. If you have any shopper bags, send our way.
All proceeds support our school by helping us purchase new books and bring in author and illustrator visits for students. Visit our website for more information!
One week from today we will celebrate our Wild Wonders S.T.E.A.M. Night, Art Show, and Book Fair! Chick-fil-A and Funnel Cake food trucks will open at 5:30 p.m., and the building doors will open at 6:00 p.m. Join us for a fun night of learning, creativity, and community.
This school year, students at Eagle Glen Elementary collaborated with high school sculpture students at RPHS. Mallory Neupane's elementary students created monster drawings and then Ashleigh Easton's sculpture students created matching monsters using sculpture materials such as paper mache and clay. Eagle Glen third graders were thrilled to receive their matching monsters from the collaboration.

Today our Grade 3–5 students had an amazing opportunity to meet Kansas City Author Angela Cervantes via Google Meet!
In preparation for the visit, students explored her website and delved into her books and the stories she created. During the session, Angela shared what inspired her to become a writer, gave insights into her writing process, and answered student questions.
Angela was impressed by how much our students knew about her work and writing, thanks to the thoughtful questions they prepared. It was an inspiring experience for all!

April 7 Bond Election: Safety, Choice, Opportunity for All
On April 7, voters will consider a $45 million bond proposal. The Board of Education approved placing the measure on the ballot at a special board meeting. The proposed bond is structured as a no-tax-rate increase measure. If approved, the district’s debt service tax rate is projected to remain the same, based on current state school finance law.
The proposed bond focuses on:
Safety and security improvements
Early childhood learning spaces
Expanded student learning and activity opportunities
Student activities and site improvements
Maintaining existing facilities
With safety leading the way, proposed improvements would impact every school in the district.
