David Lindsey-Abaire’s play "Kimberly Akimbo" premiered Off-Broadway in 2003 and was called by the New York Times the “Comedy of the Year.” The story centers on Kimberly, a teenage girl suffering from a rare disease which causes people to age at a rapid rate. Her dysfunctionally zany family complicates Kimberly’s life as she grapples with her feelings concerning her condition and her attraction to a misfit teenage boy.
