Shot Clinics
The Cass County Health Department is coming to the secondary level schools to administer shots for next year’s 8th and 12th graders. The shots available will be the TDaP and MCV4 for next year’s 8th graders and the second MCV4 for next year’s seniors.
PRISM Multi-Media Art and Literature Magazine
The first edition of the RPHS PRISM Multi-Media Art and Literature Magazine has been printed. Thank you to five LEAD Center students who worked hard to put this 64 page, full-color magazine together - fully funded by sponsors!
If you'd like to purchase one in support of our RPHS artists and writers, the PRISM is ready for purchase at the price of $5 each. Copies are available in the high school office for purchase, or you can contact Art Teacher Amy Hellums at amy.hellums@raypec.org to arrange for pickup. Cash or check made out to RPHS PRISM are preferred methods of payment.
All proceeds from the magazines sold will go toward scholarships for a few 2024 seniors that have artwork/ literature published in the PRISM.
Touch-A-Truck And Hiring Event
The Cass County Sheriff's Office invites the public to a Touch-A-Truck and Hiring Event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2501 W. Mechanic St., Harrisonville. Families can view a variety of vehicles. The event includes food, games, and giveaways. Information will be available for persons interested in a job with the Sheriff's Office.
Taste of Ray-Pec - April 20
The Ray-Pec Public School Foundation is planning for its annual fundraising event, the Taste of Ray-Pec, scheduled for Saturday, April 20, at Abby Road Farm, 19608 S. State Hwy J, outside of Peculiar.
The event will raise money to support Ray-Pec students and staff.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour and opening of a silent auction. Food booths open at 6 p.m. The live auction will begin at 7 p.m. Kentucky Derby attire is the theme. The event is being held in a dirt-floor arena. Because there is no parking at the event, there will be free shuttles every 15 to 20 minutes from South Middle School, 20502 S. School Rd.

Electronic Collection Event - May 11
Save landfill space and help protect our environment by properly disposing of your old cell phone, computer, television, and other electronics. The annual electronic collection event is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 11, in the parking area at Raymore-Peculiar Academy, 21001 S. School Rd., Peculiar.
Items accepted at no charge include: Computer towers, keyboards, printers, laptops, tablets, cell phones, landline phones, cassette players, VCR/DVD players, computer mouse, copiers, scanners, routers, gaming systems, radio/stereos, lithium-Ion batteries from laptop or cell phone only, APC battery back-up, cords and wiring from electronics, and small household appliances.
Because these items contain hazardous materials and require special handling, Meredith Recycling charges fees to accept them. Fees (checks or cash only) apply to:
$20 each for LCD or Plasma TVs & Monitors
$25 each for CRT Monitors and CRT TVs under 26" (diagonal)
$30 each for CRT TVs over 26" (diagonal) and Rear Projection TVs
Items NOT accepted: CDs, flash drives, VCR tapes, ink or toner cartridges, light bulbs, nor batteries of any type (other than those listed under items accepted).
Please leave original packaging at home. The 2020 World Championship Ray-Pec Robotics Team “System Meltdown” FRC 2357 will be on hand to assist and help unload your electronics. Donations are appreciated.
