Support for Families Experiencing Financial Challenges

We know that some families in our community are facing unexpected financial changes. With many federal employees and contractors affected by recent furloughs or workforce reductions, we want to remind families that help is available through our school nutrition program.

If your household’s income has changed, your child may now qualify for free or reduced-price school meals —

Even if you applied earlier in the year and were not eligible at that time.

Our Child Nutrition team is here to help. Families who have already applied and were denied or families that need to make a change in income can call 816-892-1370 for assistance in updating income information to see if they now qualify.

Those who have not yet applied are encouraged to do so—applications are accepted throughout the school year and can be submitted at any time when financial circumstances change.

We understand that asking for help can feel difficult, but please know this program exists to support families during challenging times. Every child deserves a nutritious meal at school, and we are here to make sure that happens—at no cost or a reduced cost for those who qualify.

Learn more by visiting Ray-Pec’s Child Nutrition website page or use this direct link to the Free/Reduced meal application.

Parents,

Welcome to our Raise Craze fundraiser! This is a unique way for us to raise money for our school while making an impact in our community. During this fundraiser, students ask friends and family for donations via the online Raise Craze platform while paying it forward serving others. What a great way for us to teach our students the importance of kindness and gratitude while raising much needed funds. Students will spend time serving, not selling! If you are familiar with our fundraiser last year, we have a new twist! Instead of individual bingo cards, we will be doing classroom bingo! This means we will get to work together as a team to accomplish acts of kindness and unlock fun prizes.

REGISTER: https://raisecraze.com/join CODE: 137-449

Enter your student’s name
Select at least 3 Acts of Kindness
Enter 5-10 email addresses of potential supporters. Raise Craze will send all emails, reminders and thank you notes. Emails will never be shared with third parties or used for marketing.
At A Glance:

Dates: Now - September 25

Our Goal: $18,500

Every student can participate in Raise Craze by completing Acts of Kindness (AOK) so we’re aiming for 100% participation. Your child will be coming home with instructions on signing up and a QR code you may use as well to register. I have also attached the incentive handout to see the fun prizes that your child and their class have the opportunity to win.

Help us continue to do so many amazing things for our kids at Timber Creek Elementary! Money raised will be used to pay for a new musical station for the playground, all field trips, teacher and essential staff grants, scholarship for TC alumni, events such as carnival, back to school bash, and class parties. The PTA also purchases a spirit wear shirt for every student.

During the fundraiser, we will be giving back to four local causes as a united school community. Donating will allow you to log an Act of Kindness in the raise craze system! We will have bins set up to collect donations at the front of the school.
