End-of-Year Assessments

This spring, students will be taking a variety of end of year assessments. Students will be taking the NWEA for math on either April 23rd-24th or April 25th-26th depending on which math course they are enrolled in. They will be taking the NWEA for English Language Arts on April 29th-30th. The NWEA assessments are taken three times throughout the school year and provide us with data that allows us to see learning growth throughout the course of the school year.

During the week of May 13th, students will be taking the Missouri End-Of-Course Exams in Biology and Algebra 1. These assessments are required by the state of Missouri for reporting purposes and also allow us to measure student understanding of these content areas.

MoDOT Youth Transportation Conference

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) invites students to apply to attend our annual Youth Transportation Conference (YTC). The 2024 Youth Transportation Conference is scheduled for July 10, 2024, to July 13, 2024.

MoDOT is pleased to offer this conference free for up to 30 students around the state interested in the transportation and engineering field. The conference is packed with fun and exciting hands-on activities, field trips, and social activities. Our academic curriculum will apply math, science, and computer-related concepts learned in school to solve transportation-related problems, so students gain valuable insight into how our transportation infrastructure works.

Students will stay overnight on the campus of Lincoln University (LU) in Jefferson City, Missouri. While students stay at Lincoln University, they will have the opportunity to visit other universities and MoDOT facilities around the state. In the past, we have visited the Canton Missouri Lock and Dam, Missouri University of Science and Technology, the Springfield-Branson Airport, MoDOT labs, and more.

If interested, please see the MoDOT YTC Flyer and Application

A reminder that tutoring is offered on Thursday afternoons at the Ninth Grade Center from 2:45 until 3:45pm. Students need to have their own transportation home and be able to be picked up right at the conclusion of tutoring. There is limited availability for spaces and students may need to be prioritized by need. Students can speak with their teachers to request to sign up.
