
Good luck to the Ray-Pec boys soccer team as they play Rockhurst in the semifinal game of the Class 4, District 6, tournament! Game time is 5 p.m. today (Nov. 1) at Lee’s Summit High School.


The Ray-Pec boys basketball team kicked off the first day of the season with practice on Monday, Oct. 31. To celebrate their first day, Big Daddy’s donuts donated some sweet treats. The team's first game will be December 2 at home.


Congrats to the boys cross country team for placing 2nd overall at the district meet last weekend, upsetting both Rockhurst and Nixa! Earning All-District medals were:
Carter Younger, 8th place; Derek Nissen, 9th; Gabe Voelker, 14th; Andres Kemper, 21st; and Blake Borum, 27th.

Congrats to the girls cross country teams for winning the district championship by nearly 100 points! The team was led by Ashlyn Smith, who is the individual district champion. Avery Raymond placed 3rd, Brooke Stephenson, 7th; Alexis Borum, 8th; Isabel Chatfield, 9th; Ellie Barker, 13th; and Maya York, 28th.

A total of 110 Ray-Pec High School juniors and seniors are tutoring throughout the district with students of all ages and grade levels. The high school tutors are learning what it’s like to interact with students of different learning styles and abilities, and experiencing many of the perks of being in the classroom. These are a few of the photos taken by High School Teacher Emily Craig when she observed the tutors in action.





In September, six RPHS International Baccalaureate (IB) students and several parents attended a lecture at the World War I museum about peacekeeping to commemorate the UN Day of Peace. The students will study UN Peacekeeping operations during the 1990s in IB History later this semester. Congrats to the RPHS varsity girls tennis team, which defeated Lees Summit 5-3 on Wednesday to win the Class 3, District 6, team championship. Singles winners included: Peyton Koper, Dulce Dunham and Sarah Jensen. This marks the first time in school history where the team has won conference and district in the same year. The girls are now 13-1 on the year and take on St. Teresa's on Monday at home in Sectional action.

Ray-Pec defeated Lee’s Summit West, 5-0, on Tuesday, and advanced to play Lee’s Summit High School at 4 p.m. today in the championship match.


Raymore-Peculiar DECA students attended DECA District #3 Fall Leadership at Tucker Leadership Lab on the campus of William Jewel on Friday Sept. 23rd. Students participated in problem-solving, team building and leadership activities with student teams from other surrounding districts. The following students attended from Ray-Pec: Olivia Ham, Mia Abnos, Emily Morris, Taryn Bower, Noah Tuttle, Tucker Huffman, Jordan Eagleson, Rory Stewart, Brookelyn Moles. DECA is an international high school organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in Marketing, Finance, Hospitality, and Management.

Thanks to the Ray-Pec Athletic Booster club we have a regulation JV softball field for our athletes. The temporary fence will be in use during the fall softball season.


The Ray-Pec High School Boys Swim Team placed 5th at the Pirate Invitational on Sept. 10 in Belton. Results included:

Congratulations! Junior Sam Larkins tied for 11th place at the Liberty North golf tournament today at Winter Stone Golf Course.

Congrats to seniors Peyton Koper and Isabella deLeon who finished 2nd in A-Flight doubles @ Barstow Invitational, eventually losing 6-0, 3-6 (1-10) in the championship to the home team. Varsity team is undefeated in conference play (2-0) and on the season (4-0).


Congrats to Senior Zander Dombrowski, who received the Player of the Week award and special game ball sponsored by Farmers Insurance Agent Mike Medsker. He was selected following his performance in the Ray-Pec win over Park Hill.


Congrats to Senior Jaidyn Doss, who was named Athlete of the Week by KSHB Channel 41 and HyVee!

The Ray-Pec boys soccer team opened its 2022 season on Tuesday in the Park Hill tourney vs Van Horn, who was coming off a 2021 Class 2 state semifinal appearance. The Panthers played the Falcons to a first-half draw, but broke out for 3 second-half goals from Matthew Como, Logan Wilson and Jacob Adams. The defense limited Van Horn to zero corner kicks and goalie Jack Green kept a clean sheet in the 3-0 win.
