Fourth and fifth-grade students could participate in a 6-week after-school art club called Art School After School. In this particular lesson, we painted a still life of flowers. Students learned and applied various painting techniques including underpainting, blending, tints, and shades. This club has allowed these students to discover new materials and techniques through small group instruction we don't otherwise use in class and has been an incredibly fun and enlightening opportunity for everyone.
