Machining classroom

Through the Computer Integrated Machining & Manufacturing (CIMM) program at the Ray-Pec LEAD Center, students learn how to operate manual lathes, manual mills, and computer numerical control (CNC) equipment to manufacture precision metal parts.

Students work in the LEAD Center’s state-of-the-art facility with equipment that rivals any metalworking facility in Kansas City.

In addition to using the machines, students can earn OSHA certifications, MasterCam training, and career training.

The CIMM program at the LEAD Center is presented through a cooperative agreement between Metropolitan Community College (MCC) and the Ray-Pec School District. All students are dual-enrolled at MCC and earn credits to Lathe and Mill Certifications and college credit hours toward an Associate’s Degree. Students also have the ability for paid internships in the Kansas City area with one of MCC’s and the LEAD Center’s business partners.
