HEO Program

Raymore-Peculiar’s Heavy Equipment Program is growing—thanks to support from a $370,000 grant from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

At its most recent meeting, the Board of Education approved bids for the expansion of the district’s Heavy Equipment Building. The approved work includes site preparation, concrete and interior construction, and a new furniture package to support learning and instruction.

Ray-Pec is one of only seven school districts in Missouri to receive funding through DESE’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program this year. The expansion reflects the district’s commitment to providing students with real-world skills and opportunities that lead to meaningful careers.

The Heavy Equipment Program offers hands-on training in construction and skilled trades, preparing students to enter the workforce with practical experience using industry-standard tools and machinery. With continued growth and strong student interest, the program is one more example of how meaningful choice happens every day across Ray-Pec schools.
